In the summer of 1963, a blonde girl, named Susie Buell was on her way to her summer job where she met hitchhiker Doug Tompkins. The pair hit it off straight away and after 5 years, started what would become one of fashion's greatest labels: Esprit.
As husband and wife during the swinging sixties, the caring and spiritually mindedness of the hippie movement influenced business practices and the company still continues to care for their employees, social issues and most importantly, the environment. From using recycled nylon in beachwear to creating an entire collection using only waste cut-off fabrics, some things just don't seem to change.
In practice today, Esprit's motivation is to still create clothing, lingerie and swimwear that make you feel good and look even better. They continue to make sure their collections are as sustainable as possible. Caring for you and the world we live in.
